C.I.M.
Solutions installs and maintains data and voice cabling
for a wide range of options including copper, wireless
and fibre optic. All of our cable installations are certified
and installed according to EIA-TIA 568A specifications
for commercial building wiring codes.
Copper
Used in most WANs and LANs, simply because of the
ease of installation.
It is low cost and is compatible with most computer
systems.
Wireless
This method of communication is ideal for business
representatives that are required to travel frequently.
The speed of wireless has increased and it is now
comparable to copper, but without the distance limitations.
Fibre
Optic
The cost of fibre optic cable has dropped allowing
companies to deploy it to the desktop. Due to the
increase in speed of copper (up to a gigabyte),
fibre is still reserved for long distance and backbone
runs. Fibre optic cabling has few bandwidth and
distance limitations.
Wiring
Closets
The wiring closet is a central location where all
the cable runs for a floor or building are terminated,
usually on a panel. Hubs, switches, routers and
other networking equipment are located here, usually
in a rack to conserve space. The main components
of your phone system are often found here as well.
Wiring closets should be neat and well organized.
Cable management systems can be deployed to keep
things organized. We offer many solutions for reorganizing
your wiring closet.
Convergence
Voice over IP (VoIP) is an emerging technology that
sees your phones connected to your data network.
VoIP has its own set of unique requirements in terms
of bandwidth and network latency. Is your existing
network infrastructure up to the task? We can help
you evaluate your network and implement any required
changes or upgrades.
